If I were devising a new sports drink, I'd probably try to avoid using the word pickle in the name. It hardly seems like the best way to entice potential customers, but what do I know?
Apparently not as much as Golden Beverages, makers of Pickle Juice Sport. If we're to believe this rather unflattering review from BevNet, Pickle Juice Sport actually tastes like pickles. Yum.
Is a programmable soda more your speed? IPIFINI's Programmable Liquid Containers offer up the technology to do such a thing. As for why we should want to...well, I'll get back to you on that one. Read more about it at the quite keen Technovelgy site.
While we're on the subject of beverages, SF and whatnot, here are some other forward-thinking articles from Technovelgy. There's one that speculates about Synthehol, which - if it existed - would allow drinkers "to experience all of the enjoyable, intoxicating effects of alcohol without unpleasant side-effects." Here's a short bit about Coffiest, a habit-forming type of coffee. Umm...aren't they all habit-forming?
Last up are some doggie drinks I first saw mentioned at CHOW's site. The good Lord only knows why you'd need water specially formulated for your dog, but if you were looking for such an item, a good place to start would be K9 Water Co. They make doggie water flavors they've dubbed Toilet Water, Puddle Water, Hose Water and Gutter Water. These apparently correspond to chicken, beef, liver and lamb.
If your canine is pining for something with a little more kick (well, not really), head to Dog Star Brewing Company and get the lowdown on their Happy Tail Ale non-alcoholic beer.
