10 Designer Fruits We'd Like To See

Designer
Bizarre cross-bred and genetically tweaked fruits are hardly the stuff of science fiction these days. If your local grocery store is forward-thinking enough you might be able to find such quirky delights as an Aprium (apricot & plum), Grapple (grape-flavored apple), or Nectaplum (nectarine & plum), just to name a few.

Not to put a fruit fly in anyone's ear or anything, but here are some possibilities that might be worth looking into:

1. Baconana (bacon & banana) - Peel off the skin and - lo and behold - it's bacon!
2. Bananut (banana & peanut) - A match made in heaven. I'm all shook up.
3. Crantato (cranberry & potato) - Just mash and serve. Sure to be a holiday favorite.
4. Lemonish (lemon & fish) - Another great combo, and no more lemon juice in your eye while dining.
5. Peawi (peach & kiwi) - For those who just can't seem to get enough fur on their fruit.
6. Porkapple (ham & pineapple) - Making your holiday meals a little bit simpler.
7. Pringleberries (blueberry) - Dried flattened blueberry chips stacked in a cardboard can.
8. Raisinmelon (raisin & watermelon) - Watermelon with raisins in place of seeds.
9. Waterquat (watermelon & kumquat) - Bite-sized peelable watermelons.
10. Coweasel (corn & weasel) - Okay, so neither one's a fruit. But it does lend new meaning to Pop Goes The Weasel.
