Jimmy Carter Peanut Statue

Carter
A little while back we wrote about Really Big Nuts. The article was about roadside attractions that are in the shape of...really big nuts. Read it here.

Further research has determined that we left out a very important big nut. That would be the Jimmy Carter Peanut statue, in the former president's hometown of Plains, Georgia. For the lowdown and a photo, check out this Roadside America article.

Topless Restaurants & Chocolate Jesus

Bunny
Taking the Hooters concept more or less its logical conclusion, Joe Francis, the individual responsible for Girls Gone Wild, has announced that he's moving into the topless restaurant business in late 2007. CNBC briefly commented on the impresario's new venture - and his legal problems - here.

The jalapeno eater in question is Richard LeFevre, a 62-year-old retired accountant from Nevada, who gulped 247 peppers in eight minutes yesterday to win a $2,000 prize. Mr. LeFevre will be available for comment in about a week or so when he emerges from the bathroom. More info here.

Speaking of records, UPI reported on a recent feat in Japan, where 14,718 participants lined up for almost a mile to shatter the record for simultaneous tea-drinking.
